Nathaniel joined Atkins & Company in 2013 as an associate. His legal practice is primarily focussed on film and television related matters, where he drafts agreements, advises on corporate matters, provides opinions on clearances, and offers guidance on various production related issues.
Nathaniel attended law school at the University of British Columbia. During that time, he participated in the UBC First Nations Legal Clinic providing legal services to the Aboriginal community in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Nathaniel has been active in the Vancouver arts community as a volunteer for the Artists’ Legal Outreach clinic and the Pull Focus Film School. Before Atkins & Company, Nathaniel articled with Miller Thomson LLP in Vancouver.
Prior to studying law, Nathaniel worked in television production on various Canadian series and feature films. In 2009, he produced and directed a short film that premiered at the Atlantic Film Festival.
Nathaniel obtained his B.A. from Dalhousie University and the University of King’s College in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Nathaniel has also studied at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, and at the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
In his spare time, Nathaniel plays the guitar, makes short videos and travels.
